Biblical Marriage
Judge Not, Lest Ye Be Judged

I am totally appalled at the latest idea that the Gay community has brought out in the limelight. What’s more, is our society supposed to endure when it comes to defying the laws of God and man? God has promised to come again and destroy that which is against his teachings. Were Adam and Eve Gay? They weren’t acquainted with such things till they ate the forbidden fruit. God didn’t marry Adam and Sam, he married Adam and Eve in love and purity. Leviticus 18:22 (KJV) states, “Thou shalt not lie with mankind as one lies with a womankind; it is an abomination.” The punishment for sin is purgatory. Romans 1:27 (NIV) also says that, “In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men , and received penalty for their perversion.”

Many denominations of churches have come to the edge of splitting over the issue of Gay and lesbian marriages/unions. As well there is a great controversy over ordination of Gay church leaders. Yet our government is hard pressed to recognize those that have a short circuit in the brains of such societies and prefer not to see it as such. God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because of the very thing that is happening in the world with the “Same gender life style” groups. What I want to know is what makes them so Gay, when Webster’s dictionary defines the word gay as bright, lively, brilliant in color and licentious or lewd? I don’t think anyone would want to be identified in such a light when the idea of lifestyle is to want to exist without shining bright in the forefront, but just living quietly without notice.

No matter what you call them same gender partners are still sinners. As for marriage between like sexes it goes against human nature to choose the kind of life. According to Dennis Cole, professor of sociology at Owens Community College, “For hundreds, if not thousands of years it has been a common agreement among most everyone in the world that a marriage consists of a male and a female. To allow gay marriages is to change the definition of marriage itself. Moreover, to allow such marriages goes against Biblical teachings.” As can be seen here Professor. Cole concurs with worldwide feelings about the subject of same gender marriages.

I agree with the states that will not recognize homosexual marriages. It is bad enough that the idea of family has caused the twosomes to find someone to bear children for them (in the male sense of procreation) or that the law says its ok to adopt a child between like gender associations. In I Corinthians 11:12 it says that “For as woman came from man, so also man is born of woman.” The tie that binds the opposite sexes together is greater than like sex unions. I for one do not hold a grudge since they need to be forgiven of sin, God is their judge. We are all sinners and some are even adulterers. But a great majority of us follow the Ten Commandments and do our best to live as God taught us to live. That does not leave room for sleeping with the other fellow.

On February 16th 2004 the NBC television morning show “Today” gave a report on the defiance the mayor of San Francisco Gavin Newsom who married thousands of "gender-neutral" couples in two days in defiance of the law against such unions. Later on February 17th, Florida’s ABC affiliate WFTV Channel 9 in Orlando Florida came the news that a conservative group asked Judge James Warren to immediately stop the wedding spree and void the 2,400 same-sex marriages performed in the city since Thursday. He instead issued a nonbinding cease-and-desist order and told the city to return on March 29 and explain its legal position.

"We are extremely happy and gratified that a stay was not issued," said a city attorney.

It's not yet clear whether San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom would abide by the nonbinding court order, or tell city officials to continue issuing the marriage licenses for gay couples.

Earlier Tuesday, another judge told another conservative group to return on Friday for another hearing on their challenge of the city's marriage policy. Two groups are challenging the move by San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom to issue marriage licenses to gay and lesbian couples, arguing he doesn't have sufficient authority to defy state law. In 2000, Californians voted to adopt Proposition 22, which says the state will recognize only marriages between a man and woman as valid.

By Monday night, 2,340 same-sex couples had exchanged vows at City Hall since the county clerk, under Newsom's order, started issuing "gender-neutral" marriage licenses Thursday.

The Campaign for California Families and the Proposition 22 Legal Defense and Education Fund are trying to block the city from issuing any more marriage licenses to gay or lesbian partners. The groups say Newsom is blatantly violating a state ban on such marriages.

Newsom argues the equal protection clause of the state constitution makes it illegal to deny marriage licenses to gay couples. He said the city will continue to issue the licenses until a court rules it must stop.

But lawyers for a group formed to defend Proposition 22 -- a 2000 California ballot initiative that says the state will recognize only marriages between a man and woman as valid -- contend the mayor lacks the authority to make that decision. The marriages will not be recognized by the states in which many came from and are just token memories to add to a scrapbook. Why then do we make laws? Are the so called “straight” people supposed to look the other way when the laws of God and man are broken in the name of justice and fairness which is not a means to an end. The one biggest reason for the marriage between the Gays is to have their partners legally able to receive the same benefits as straight couples. Gay and Lesbian groups are seeking to legalize the unions by saying that they are civil unions and not marriages. According to the advocacy groups Gay and Lesbian Advocate Defenders (GLAD) and Your Family Friends and Neighbors (YFFN), In addition to facing no federal protection, civil-union couples are unable to profit from basic marital benefits. Unionized couples are unable to make medical decisions on a partner's behalf, take sick leave to care for or mourn for a partner, have their partner covered under their health or unemployment benefits, choose a partner's final resting place, file joint tax returns, insurance policies, or rent property together. Civil marriages are currently illegal in all 50 states, but Massachusetts, New Jersey, Arizona and Indiana all have civil-marriage lawsuits pending. I see no good sense why the law cannot extend the rights of partners to them without the sanctity of marriage. Marriage is the union between a man and a woman.

God did not ordain the path to sinful ways in the lives of those who claim to be of the faith and live a life that goes against His commandments. Where in the Ten Commandments does it say “thou shalt honor thy gay/lesbian partner? Even Moses when he came down from Mt. Sinai was angered to the point of obeying God’s commandment to destroy the sinners of his people and the tablets that God had bestowed upon him because they had lost their faith and sinned against God. For this the Jews had to wonder in the wilderness for 40 years until all who had sinned against God and all the their generations had passed on.

No one is saying that same sex people cannot have religion but to have religion one must follow the commandments if it is in Christianity. The issue here is not a religious one but a political one. There is little room on both sides of the table to find a common ground. First and foremost the Gay and Lesbian community must know that Christianity cannot accept the lifestyle they lead. Anyway you cut it, it still goes against the laws of God and nature. Man’s laws are always subject to change. God’s laws are written in stone!
