Cost of the War President Bush is asking to throw another $1 billion into Iraq to help the people. So far the war has cost America $400 billion dollars. There are 26 million people in Iraq and their estimated average per capita income is around $4,500 each. If you divide the cost of the war by the population it comes out to a little over $15,000 per Iraqi, except that money didn’t go to them directly. It was the cost of the war! That’s $5,000 a year which is more than the average Iraqi makes. Now, what’s $1 Billion going to do for the average Iraqi? That comes out to about $38 each or one weeks pay. Whoopeee! Seems to be we would have been better off giving each Iraqi $5,000 a year in salary just for being an Iraqi. Or maybe did a cash for arms deal, like we do in the ghettos. You turn in an AK47 and we give you $$$! I still say, the biggest mistake we made was not doing what we do best. Whipping some Americanism on them. You know. Xboxes, 501 Jeans, MTV, etc. Where are the Golden Arches. Where is Colonel Buckets. Where is the type of lifestyle we have here in America out there! I mean we export it to every other nation of the world, why not Iraq. So, instead we are going to send more troops at a huge cost. Maybe another $100 billion this year or more. And infuse a mere $1 billion into their economy. Whoopeee!
