Beautiful Summer Skin and Hair,
Right from Your Own Kitchen!

Is your skin dry, oily, combination? Is your hair limp and dry? No matter what you have, you can benefit from these simple recipes for skin(and hair) success!

1) Carrot-Cream Dream

Boil and mash, or juice a few carrots. If juicing, retain the pulp. Mix the carrots with a half cup of sour cream. Add a few drops of lemon juice, and a few drops of Vitamin E. You can get Vitamin E in liquid form at a local GNC, or pierce a few gelcaps from a drugstore. Mix everything thoroughly. It's ok if it looks a bit lumpy. Apply to skin, lay back, and allow the vitamins to penetrate and soothe your skin for about 20 minutes.

What this does for your skin:
Carrots are high in Vitamin A, which is good for your skin. Lemon juice helps fade discoloration, and Vitamin E aids in cell regeneration, which will help heal blemishes. If your skin is oily, try a oatmeal and avocadoe mixture. The oatmeal absorbs excess oil, while the avacadoe hydrates.

2) Did someone say Mayonaisse?

Mayonaisse is known to be good for the hair. Why not break it down into its essential elements? Eggs and oil are used in making homemade mayonaisse(who knows what's in the commercial versions!) Mix two eggs with a half cup to a cup of olive oil. Apply to the hair and allow to sit for 20-30 minutes.

What this does for your hair:
Eggs are high in protein, and strengthen your hair. The oil pentrates into the hair and replenishes the moisture lost sitting in the sun, swimming, or other things that leave our hair dry and brittle in the summer.

Try these recipes, and you will be all set for summer!

Quick Tips

*For smooth knees and elbows, cut a lemon in half and dip the cut side in granulated sugar. Rub the lemon over your skin to exfoliate dead cells, and blend any discoloration

* Got a blemish? Tone down that redness by applying a drop of Visine to a Q-Tip, and hold it on the blemish for a few seconds. It gets the red out!

*Apply olive oil to the hair and cover with a hot towel for about 20 minutes for a moisturizing treatment for sun-stripped hair.

*Boil a pot of water with a few herbal tea bags, or a few drops of your favorite essential oil. Remove from heat, place a towel over your head and your face over the pot for a rejuvenating steam facial at home!
